Global Environmental Change
Since 2015 I have collaborated in a passive warming experiment on the Pichincha Volcanic Complex near Quito, Ecuador with other Ecuadorian scientists. We have monitored the vegetation and aboveground biomass in the open-top chambers (OTCs). The temperature in the OTCs has increased and the vegetation community has shifted towards bunch grasses.
Currently, I am working on an experiment to test hypotheses surrounding the vertical shift in vegetation as a consequence of climate change. Specifically, as they relate to the biotic interactions mediating these shifts and the resulting communities.
